Although July 2012 may seem like a long way away, brokers need to consider how they'll fit in their diploma studies between now and then -- in order to maintain their MFAA membership. Members holding MFAA AMC, AFC or CMC status, or Associate Credit Adviser (ACA) status with Certificate IV qualification only, are required to provide evidence of a completed 'Diploma meeting MFA A criteria' by 30 June 2012, which means one of the following: • Diploma of Financial Services (Finance/ Mortgage Broking Management) FNS50504 completed prior to 22/10/10 through a Registered Training Organisation; or • Diploma of Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking Management) FNS50504 commenced prior to 22/10/10 through a Registered Training Organisation; or • Diploma of Mortgage Lending provided Certificate IV in Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking) FNS40804 or Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking FNS40810 is also held; or • Diploma of Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking Management) FNS50504 or Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management FNS50310 completed after 22/10/10 through one of the MFA A preferred vendors; or • Diploma of Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking Management) FNS50504 or Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management FNS50310 , completed after 22/10/10 through a Registered Training Organisation other than the MFA A preferred vendors (must also complete a case study and assessment set by MFA A to advance to the new MFA A member status). Email evidence of successful completion of your Diploma meeting MFAA criteria to email@example.com. Once it has been confirmed that your diploma meets MFAA criteria, your new status of MFAA Associate Credit Adviser (ACA) or MFAA Credit Adviser (CA) will apply, depending on your level of experience. You will receive an email confirming the change, and a copy of your new MFAA Statement of Attainment displaying your new status will be attached. Have you started your diploma yet? If you have any questions, please contact the membership team on 1300 554 817 or email firstname.lastname@example.org 62 | Mortgage & Finance brief Membership
